Sioux Falls Police say they have an uncooperative victim, but no suspect yet, after a stabbing near the downtown area Wednesday morning.

Officer Sam Clemens says police were called just before 9am to an apartment in the 600 block of South Dakota  Avenue.

He says the 23-year-old victim had been stabbed and cut, with non-life-threatening injuries.

Clemens says the victim was uncooperative with officers, who were talking to witnesses and others as they searched for a suspect.

Clemens says a passerby called police, and he says the officers found blood both inside and outside the apartment.

He says the stabbing apparently happened sometime between midnight and 9am.

The victim, described as a transient, had cuts to his head and back, and a puncture wound to his arm.
