Police say nothing was taken in an apparent strong-arm robbery attempt Thursday night.

Lieutenant Loren McManus says police were called around 11:40 PM to the 400 block of North Spring Avenue, where an 18-year-old man was at home and with two women. McManus says the women believed the man had some money in his apartment:

"We don't know for sure, but it sounds like maybe they (the two women) were involved in calling two other male residents over to the victim's house," explained McManus. "When these two males showed up there was one male, white, one male, black, they were dressed all in black, they had ski masks on. One of them had a weapon they displayed. There was an altercation that took place in the residence."

McManus says the two men assaulted the male resident, but he was able to get away to call for help.

The two men and the two women were gone when police arrived, and police don't believe anything was taken. So far, no one has been arrested.
