Police Want to Know If North Dakota Man Was Set up in Sioux Falls Heist

Sioux Falls Police are trying to piece together a robbery that happened Friday. A North Dakota man is at the center of the mystery.

According to Lt. Loren McManus, the victim claims that he befriended a woman and they ended up going back to his hotel room on South Meadow Avenue. Somehow another woman got involved who was supposedly a friend of the first woman.

All three were in the hotel room when one of the women left the room. The victim claims that a keycard to the room was left outside the door.

A short time later, three black men came in the room with handguns and committed the robbery. The woman who was still in the room left with the three armed men.

Police are not sure if the man was set up to be robbed. The investigation continues.
