On Saturday, June 7th both women and men from all over the Sioux Empire will literally be walking around in women's high-heeled shoes.

No there's not some big drag show going on. They'll be strutting their stuff in the 3rd annual Globe University/Compass Center "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" event.

The Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event helps bring awareness to domestic and sexual violence nationwide. Everyone participating that day will walk one-mile in women's high-heeled shoes for three very good reasons. To protest sexualized violence, help educate the community and raise money for the Compass Center here in Sioux Falls.

The registration fee is just $10.00 and there's still time to sign up.

Get a team of walkers together or walk alone. The pre-registration deadline is Wednesday, May 21st at 12:00 P.M. You may also register the day of the event.

Each walker is asked to supply their own heels, as the Compass Center has a limited supply.

There is no requirement to raise money outside of the registration fee, however, awards and recognition will be given to those with the most money raised by either a team or an individual. They'll also be recognition for the fastest time to complete the walk, make the various stations and for the best shoes worn.

The walk begins that morning at 9:00 A.M. at Globe University, located at 5101 South Broadband Lane.
