Barbecue season is back in the Sioux Empire. Before you get ready to throw a few burgers on the grill again, I have a quick question, how is your condiment selection at the moment?

Are you setting okay with things like ketchup, relish, onions, pickles, salt, pepper, do you have any Matt's Mom's Mustard in the house?

If you don't, it sounds like you should probably get some. Stat!

A South Dakota made mustard that is manufactured in Tea has taken the Silver medal at a competition that honors the tastiest mustard's made in the world.

Matt's Mom's Mustard won second place recently in the exotic category of the 2015 National Mustard Museum’s World-Wide Mustard Competition. The competition is held by the National Mustard Museum in Middleton, Wisconsin.

Matt's Mom's Mustard had some stiff competition from around the world at the event, as mustard's from various countries including Japan, Sweden and France all entered.

This year’s winner of the Exotic Category, Edmond Fallot Walnut Dijon out of Beaune, France, also won the Grand Champion title.

The award winning Matt's Mom's Mustard is based on the recipe of Matt's mom, Gloria, a woman who hails from Pierre, South Dakota. Gloria has been making mighty tasty gluten-free mustard that boasts bold ingredients and big flavor for over 30 years now.

Matt's Mom's Mustard is currently available in three flavors; Smokin' Dixie, Roasted Garlic and Mango Habanero.

Fans of Matt's Mom's Mustard should be on the lookout for three new flavors within the next three to six months according to Jamie Jackson, president of Matt's Mom's Mustard.

Word has it the new flavors will be; Mittelscharf, which features German coarse-ground yellow and brown mustard seeds, turmeric, pickle juice and apple juice.

India Star, a mustard that features curry, cumin, saffron, red pepper, turmeric, coriander and coconut cream.

And finally, an Apple cider mustard, that is supposedly an in-house favorite with the Matt's Mustard gang.

Matt's Mom's Mustard can be purchased online and in various stores in parts of South Dakota, Nebraska and Florida. The company is currently growing its Black Hills presence at the moment.
