The Holiday Inn chain has told Rod Stewart to come back -- all is forgiven! Good to know should Stewart decide to bunk down at the Sioux Falls Holiday Inn this weekend when in town for "The Hits" tour.

Back in the 1970's, Rod and his band were banned for life from the hotels due to the debauchery, destruction, and non-stop pranks that left many of the hotels in tatters across North America. During his recent appearance on CBS' The Late, Late Show, Rod spoke about the four-decade ban:

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah -- and now it seems foolish nowadays, but the reason we did it is because, y'know, especially in Holiday Inn's, we'd get no respect. Y'know, they didn't want to serve us.  So we just took our revenge. Televisions, we'd empty the rooms out of furniture and put it in the elevator and send all the furniture down to the lobby. In fact, we were still doing that in the '80s.

This led the Holiday Inn to tweet a photo-shopped hotel marquee stating: "Hey Rod Stewart -- We're not one to hold a grudge. You're welcome back any time."

The line starts here for anyone who "re-arranged" a little furniture on any of the St. Patrick's parties at the Sioux Falls Downtown Holiday Inn during the 1980's.

Rod Stewart is bringing “The Hits” tour to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 7:30 PM. Opening band is Runaway Saints.

Tickets are still available and start at $49. Get yours here and let's meet at the Holiday Inn after the encore.
