The Sioux Falls School District and in particular Roosevelt High fell victim to a bomb threat hoax on Thursday.

According to Lt. Dave McIntire of the Sioux Falls Police Department, an email was sent to the Sioux Falls School District on Thursday, April 7, 2016 that mentioned a bomb threat and referenced Roosevelt High School.

Immediately upon receiving the email investigators did a complete sweep of the building and determined there were no explosives on the premises.  Students and teachers were allowed to stay inside the building while the sweep was being conducted.

At this time law enforcement officials still do not know who is responsible for sending the email, but whoever did better hope they don't get caught. Making a false threat involving an explosive device is considered a felony and is punishable with up to a two year sentence in a state penitentiary if convicted.
