A Maryland school employee who corrected a student's spelling in a polite manner on Twitter has been fired from her job last week. Katie Nash was let go as the web experience coordinator with Frederick County Public Schools.

Her response garnered more than 1,000 retweets and 1,000 likes and it did not offend the student who had made the tweet. After sending the message she was told not to tweet anymore and the very next day, she was fired.
