A hit and run accident that sent an officer to the hospital has prompted a notice to the public in search for his whereabouts.

Attorney General Marty Jackley issued a press release with more details about the Sioux City man wanted in connection with an incident that happened in Tyndall on August 6, 2016. Officer Kelly Young had pulled over a vehicle at a store because of an alleged driving complaint.

The driver of the pickup hit Young causing various injuries. Young was eventually treated and released from the hospital but the search for 35 year-old Travis Ray McPeek continues.

McPeek is 5’ 6” and weighs 144 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes and numerous tattoos. He was last seen driving a White Dodge Ram with Iowa license plate DYF593.

McPeek is charged with for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. Anyone with information about McPeek is asked to contact local law enforcement at 605-589-3942.
