UPDATE: The hikers were found around 9:30 AM on Thursday morning. Apparently the two women were found between two or three miles from their campground. 

Their condition was described as slightly dehydrated, but otherwise okay according to Pennington County spokeswoman Patty Garland. 

Day two in the search for two missing women is underway in the Badlands National Park according to Sheriff Deputies.  The call of the missing 23 and 24 year old women was reported on Wednesday July 27, 2016.

The pair were reported lost in the area near the Sage Creek Campground at 8:30 PM.  A text was received by a friend of the missing duo saying they were lost. Authorities found the campsite and vehicle and the search continued into the overnight hours.

Day two in the search for the Vermont women resumed at 6:00 AM on Thursday July 28, 2016.

 

Agencies responding to the scene included the Badlands National Park Rangers, Pennington County Search and Rescue, Wall Volunteer Fire Department and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office.
