Sesame Street changed when it moved from PBS to HBO earlier this year as the show tries to retool for 21st century kids.

The show went from an hour long to thirty minutes and now we learn that the show has cut three human characters that have been with the show for most of it 45 year history.

At Florida Supercon on July 2, Bob McGrath who played “Bob” told the audience that he, Emilio Delgado (“Luis”) and Roscoe Orman (“Gordon”) were all released from the show.

“I have completed my 45th season this year. And the show has gone under a major turn around, going from an hour to a half-hour. HBO has gotten involved also." McGrath said.

Bob who is 84, had been with the show since it started in 1969.

Delgado, 76, started on the show in 1971 as Luis the handyman. Luis would later marry Maria who was played by Sonia Manzano. She retired from the show in 2015.

Orman wasn't the first Gordan, but he played the character since 1974. Loretta Long, who plays Gordon’s Wife Susan since the beginning will remain on the show.
