Ozzy Osbourne Admits He’s Been Drinking + Doing Drugs, But Not Splitting From Sharon

Pacific Coast News

Ozzy Osbourne has a colorful, checkered past with substance abuse, and unfortunately fell back into his bad habits.

The Black Sabbath frontman admitted to a recent relapse on his Facebook page, hot on the heels of rumors that he’s divorcing from his ever-loyal and super sassy wife, Sharon.

The good news? Not only are Ozzy and Sharon not splitting up (at least not yet), but he’s also recovering.

Here is Osbourne’s statement in full:

For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an a–hole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober. Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I’m just trying to be a better person. I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period………and my fans.

God Bless,

Ozzy

Osbourne’s addictions have been long documented, including within an actual documentary. A 2011 film directed by his son, Jack, entitled ‘God Bless Ozzy Osbourne,’ was a celebration of the singer’s sobriety.

We’re happy Ozzy’s on the road to recovery. We have a feeling if he wasn’t that Sharon would whoop his ass into shape until he was. Hold onto her!
