Would you be upset if a commercial billboard showed up in your neighborhood one of these days? That's what is happening in some Sioux Falls neighborhoods and residents are less than thrilled.

The complaints have prompted City Planning Director Mike Cooper and his office to consider putting together a temporary moratorium to come up with ordinance amendments to address their concerns.

This all stems back to a law enacted about a year ago which enabled businesses that move off the city's main commercial corridors to move billboards with them.

Cooper's plan is to form a group of citizens, sign industry officials and members from the city staff to work on amendments to the new zoning ordinance.
