The 76th Annual Sioux Empire Fair came to a shocking ending for one fair worker.

Both the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office and the Sioux Falls Police Department were called to the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds on Sunday night, August 9 at around 8:10 to help care for a 50-year-old male who suffered an electrical shock while disassembling one of the carnival rides.

The man was immediately taken to Sanford Hospital by ambulance and treated for non-life threatening injuries. At last report he was in stable condition.

The Sioux Empire Fair had already ended, so there were no fair-goers present at the time of the accident.

The incident is currently under investigation.
