It is about time that those number-crunchers at WalletHub recognized Sioux Falls as one of the best places to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Because it definitely is!

They looked at 200 of the largest cities in the U.S. and compared them in categories like: percentage of Irish population, number of Irish pubs per capita, St. Patrick's Day celebrations and traditions, beer prices, crime rate, and even the weather.

When all was said and done, Sioux Falls came in 19th out of 200 cities, which is, if you ask me not too bad. WalletHub used statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI, each city's official St. Patrick's Day parade page and many others.

By the way, our St. Patrick's Day Parade will be on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 2 to 3:30 PM. And, the St. Patty's Day Mile run will be on the same day beginning at 9 AM with the 5 mile run, 5K at 11:30 AM and the mile run at 1:45.

WalletHub also came up with a whole page of fun facts about St. Patrick's Day which included details like: the current market value of a Leprechaun's Pot 'O Gold is 1.22 million dollars, St. Patrick's Day is the 4th most popular drinking holiday, 56.1% of Americans will be celebrating the holiday, and the first St. Patrick's Day parade took place not in Ireland, but in Boston in 1737.

If you're a little Irish and want to hang out with peeps of your own kind, you may want to check out the Sioux Falls Irish Club.
