Heart disease is the number one killer in women.

During Heart Month discover that losing weight, exercising and eating nutritious food is more than a fad.  More than what your coworkers do for the first few weeks of the New Year.

A healthy heart needs to be a way of life.

Too much food combined with too little regular physical activity can lead to unhealthy weight gain and obesity. But the life-threatening health problems caused by obesity aren’t simple at all.

Wear red and attend the Go Red For Women Luncheon Friday, February 22 at Sioux Falls Convention Center.

Visit the silent auction and choose from gift packages donated by local merchants.  All proceeds benefit the Go Red For Women movement.  Grab your girlfriends for a photo at the Diva Wall or enjoy mock-tails in the Diva Lounge.  You'll also have the opportunity to learn from several vendors about reducing your risk of heart disease and stroke in the vendor area.

Dr. Tom Stys of Sanford Health American Heart Association Midwest Affiliate Board Member will be the keynote speaker.

Being obese puts a huge strain on your heart, increasing the work it has to do. Too much weight raises your risk for heart disease, stroke, diabetes and cancer.
