So, did you hear the one about the dog that wandered into a Sioux Falls Hy-Vee Food Store?

The Sioux Falls Argus Leader is reporting a lost pit bull pup strolled into the South Minnesota Avenue store sometime during the afternoon on Tuesday, March 1.

The dog was found searching for smiles in every aisle around 3:30 that afternoon.

In an attempt to find the dogs owner, store employees posted a message on Facebook about the friendly, well-behaved, canine shopper that was shared over 200 times.

While hanging out at Hy-Vee, waiting to find his human companion, the unexpected shopper got to stay in a separate area of the store for about an hour, nibbling on dog treats.

The story does have a happy ending. After placing a call to Sioux Falls Animal Control, it was discovered the dogs owner actually lives across the street from the store. The owner was able to retrieve the animal from the truck according to a store employee.

I'm guessing he might be back to shop again, now that he knows what aisle the doggie treats are in.
