With the unemployment rate at the low level that it is, employers are being challenged to find workers in many cases. Companies may be offering better pay and working conditions to attract new employees.

That has people looking for a better paying jobs perhaps. If you are out looking for the best possible job, be ready for the job interview.

Preparing for an interview is a lot like preparing for a test. Who ever scores the best by giving the best answers, gets the prize. The prize being the job.

While no one can know in advance the exact questions an interviewer will ask, it is possible to predict a few of them.

CareerBuilder surveyed more than 2,500 hiring and human resource managers to find out the most common interview questions. About half report asking these five questions:

  1. Tell me about yourself.
  2. Why do you want this job?
  3. Why did you leave your last job?
  4. What is your greatest strength and greatest weakness?
  5. Describe a difficult work situation and how you overcame it.

And one last piece of advice is, research the company before the interview and learn as much as possible about its services, products, customers and competition.
