Sioux Falls Police Lt. John Duprey says a man walked to the hospital early Wednesday morning after he was repeatedly stabbed by an unknown attacker.

"When officers arrived at the hospital, they made contact with the victim. He stated that he had gone to the Get-N-Go at Fourth Street and Cliff Avenue and made a purchase. He left the store and began walking. He made it to about Fifth Street and Cliff Avenue where he was jumped from behind. The victim received several lacerations."

Duprey says the victim suffered cuts in the back of his shoulder, back of head and to his thigh.

It's not known what the condition of the victim is.
