A Sioux Falls man was injured late Tuesday when he was cut with a paring knife, and another man is in custody.

Officer Sam Clemens says police were called around 11:45pm to the 500 block of North Cliff Avenue, where the 30-year-old man had been in a room with a 24-year-old woman.

Clemens says when they began arguing, a male relative of the woman came into the room with a paring knife.

He swung the knife at the man, cutting him several times on his head and one arm.

Clemens says the victim got out of the house as fast as he could, but the assailant was still there when police arrived.

Edward Thomas Theobald, 47, was arrested for aggravated assault. The victim was treated for his cuts.
