The 18-foot tall Mr. Bendo has been a Sioux Falls icon for years. His original home was at a Mobile station at 13th & Philips in Downtown Sioux Falls.

When Bucks Muffler moved to its present day location on the corner of 12th and Cliff Avenue Mr. Bendo went along. Now, Bucks Muffler and Mr. Bendo are for sale.

The owner of Bucks Muffler, Jerry Wallenstein, who worked for Bucks Muffler for 44 years and has owned it for 16 said:

The building and Mr. Bendo are ideally being sold as a package deal. But if a deal happened that Mr. Bendo were sold separately that might be possible too.”

When Wallenstein purchased Mr. Bendo he paid around $20,000.  Mr. Bendo has been a Sioux Falls staple since the 1960's. It sure would be sad to see him leave his home town.
