Sioux Falls Police Lt. Mike Colwill says the man charged with killing his wife is now in the Minnehaha County jail.

"After Irving Jumping Eagle received medical treatment in Brookings for his injuries in a car accident, he was placed under arrest for his warrant and transported back to Sioux Falls where he is lodged."

Colwill says the police investigation into the murder is nearing its end.

"We have some follow up to do in regard to the evidence. We still need to process the vehicle that he was driving when he struck the bridge pillar. We also have a few witnesses to talk with as detectives follow up on a few leads."

Jumping Eagle faces charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder and manslaughter in connection with the death of his wife, 33-year-old Alicia Jumping Eagle.
