At least six burglaries in southwest Sioux Falls were victims in a series of weekend burglaries.

"Most of these happened Friday night to Saturday morning or Saturday Night into Sunday morning," explains Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens. "We had quite a few that were pried open. Probably the biggest one was Arthur Johnson shoes. Somebody was able to break into the place, stole more cash along with 50 to 100 pairs of shoes. The value has been estimated between 10 and 15 thousand dollars."

Clemens says the police investigation continues.

"I guess the big question right now is---are any of these related. We have an idea that some of them may be. We're not sure if all of them are connected or not. That's one of the things detectives are working on along with finding out who is responsible."

Clemens says cash primarily was taken during the burglaries.
