Sioux Falls Police Hoping to Take A Bite Out of Crime

Sioux Falls Police Lt. John Lohr announced his department will be focusing on the safe streets initiative!

"The project is going to consist of teams of street crimes officers as well as uniformed patrol officers. They will center their efforts on some of the core areas of Sioux Falls---the central part of the city. These teams of officers will focus their efforts on things like violent crime, weapons offenses as well as some of the drug crimes we have seen."

Lohr says officers will be making more one on one contacts with the public.

"They will be addressing citizens in an attempt to form those relationships and partner with them to make their neighborhoods a safer place to be."

Lohr is hoping the initiative will reduce weapon and drug related crimes in Sioux Falls.
