Sioux Falls Police were dispatched to the Taco Johns located at 1420 West 41st St. early Thursday morning for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

Upon arrival at the restaurant, officers came into contact with a cab driver with a local cab company. The cab driver told them that a subject had called for a ride and asked to be picked up at Red Rosa on Western Avenue.

When the subject got into the cab he asked the driver if he had change for a large bill. When the cab driver told the subject that change could be made the subject pulled out a semi-automatic hand gun, placed it to the driver's neck, and demanded money.

The cab driver handed over an undetermined amount of money to the subject who then fled the scene. The driver left the area and drove to Taco Johns and called the police. No one was injured. The suspect is still at large.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'9", skinny build, and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and black pants or blue jeans.

If anyone has information about the robbery please contact the Sioux Falls Police Department at 367-7000.
