Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says a K9 officer took down a suspect in a northwest Sioux Falls home Monday night.

"Our suspect in this case was breaking up things inside the house and threatened people with a kitchen knife. We had a 13-year-old boy that called police. We got a description of the suspect. He came to the back door," explains Clemens.

"At the time one of the officers had a K9 with him. They were giving commands to the suspect to come out and turn himself into police. The suspect decided to go back inside the house. The K9 handler ended up releasing the dog to go after this guy. The dog did what he was trained to do - biting the man and took him down to the ground."

Clemens says 36-year-old Jeremy Lee Shoulders of Sioux Falls was arrested and charged with simple assault domestic, resisting arrest and obstruction.
