Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says Shopko at 4501 Arrowhead Parkway was burglarized early Wednesday morning.

"Officers responded to a burglar alarm. When they arrived, the business was all locked up. There wasn't any evidence of forced entry. While they were waiting for someone with a key to open it up, an officer saw our suspect leave the back of the building. He took off running. They were able to eventually catch him and found he had broken into the store's pharmacy. He had a lot of controlled drugs and pain medication. The total of the drugs was over five thousand dollars.

Clemens says the suspect was arrested near the store.

"He was located a couple blocks away hiding under a car. Officers did a great job of tracking him down and arresting him."

Clemens says 42-year-old Jose Montesosorio is being charged with grand theft, possession of controlled substances and 3rd degree burglary.
