Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens says a man that was drinking at Heritage Park was attacked by three transients.

"He said some people came up and the three transients took his cell phone. When he confronted them about that they began beating him. There were two guys and a woman. They all began punching him. When he fell to the ground the woman began kicking him in the head. We had somebody that saw this take place and called police. We were able to find the three suspects as they were leaving the park. We were able to get each of them arrested."

Clemens says the victim, also a transient, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

In another incident, Clemens says a burglar ripped off a house and car early Tuesday morning at 33rd and Euclid in Sioux Falls.

"A woman woke up in her home in the central part of the city and she noticed her bedroom door was open which was unusual. Once she did some looking around---she noticed cash was missing along with her car keys and her car had been taken as well. We think the suspect or suspects were able to enter the house threw a window. But, we're not really sure about this at this point in time."

Clemens urges residents to keep all windows and doors locked day and night. Each year in the U.S., there are more than five million home burglaries.
