A Sioux Falls woman is hospitalized with a broken leg and a broken arm, and police are looking for a hit-and-run driver.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says Sioux Falls Fire Rescue crews were returning from a call Monday night when they found the woman on the side of 14th Street near Dakota Avenue, in the gutter next to the curb.

As fire crews arrived, a motorist told them he had stopped to help, but he left.

Clemens says the woman was intoxicated, but police believe she was crossing 14th Street from south to north and that she was struck by an eastbound vehicle.

He says the 50-year-old woman had bumps and bruises in addition to the broken leg and arm.

He says she told officers the vehicle that hit her might have been light tan and possibly a smaller car.

Clemens says anyone who might have witnessed the crash around 8pm is being asked to contact Sioux Falls Police or Crimestoppers.
