Police have ended their search for a man reportedly walking in the area of 38th and Phillips Ave and have determined that the report was "unfounded."

Police initially went door-to-door after they received a report of a man seen carrying a rifle. One resident suggested that the rifle may have been a pool cue.

Area schools were on lockdown as police conduct their search. Police spokesman Sam Clemens was not aware what schools were "sheltering in place." The schools have locked their outside doors, but are continuing with business as usual inside.

According to the Argus Leader:

The person who called in the report said the gun was in a sling over his back. A second person said they saw the same person but couldn't say for sure what the male was carrying.
