A break in the Kari Ann Kirkegaard murder case was announced today and a suspect is in custody. 

Sioux Falls Police Chief Doug Barthel says that 40-year-old Christopher Kryger was arrested today and has counts of 1st degree murder, 2 counts of rape and two counts of burglary levied against him.  Bond has already been set in the case at 1 million dollars.

Sioux Falls Police says numerous elements went into the capture of the suspect including DNA at the scene, surveillance video and tips gleaned from Crimestoppers.  Kirkegaard was found dead on March 16 in her home. Kryger, who is a parolee was first questioned by authorities on March 20.
