Sioux Falls Police Spokesman Sam Clemens released additional information on the near drowning incident Friday at the Timberland Village Apartments at 3401 East 11th Street.

"A 13-year-old got a key to the pool from her mom's key ring and invited some friends over because there was no school. Unfortunately they wandered into the deeper end of the pool," explained Clemens.

"The older one that got the key was able to get out of the pool even though she couldn't swim. Her brothers - a nine-year-old and a 12-year-old - went under the water. A friend was able to pull the nine-year-old out. They did some CPR and got him breathing again. The 12-year-old was too heavy to pull out of the water. Some office staff heard the commotion and came in. They were the ones that pulled him out."

Clemens says both juveniles were transported to a local hospital where the 9-year-old is listed in stable condition and the 12-year-old remains in critical condition.
