The 60th Annual Grammy Awards will be held this Sunday, January 28th and several voices from Sioux Falls will be watching with anticipation.

According to KSFY TV South Dakota Chorale has been nominated for its recording of Tyberg Masses. The nomination is in the category of Best Choral Performance. And that's not all. Three other nominations include for the group include Best Surround Sound Album, Best Engineered Album for the classical genre, and Producer of the Year in the classical genre.

Based in Sioux Falls the South Dakota Chorale formed in 2009 and is under the direction of Dr. Brian Schmidt. Schmidt is an associate professor at Baylor University but did his undergrad at South Dakota State University. The group consists of singers from all over the country including South Dakota.

The choir has released three commercial recordings in collaboration with Grammy award-winning producer Blanton Alspaugh.
