Sioux Falls Summer Singers Satisfy Solicitude Savoring Sounds, Seeing Sights, & Serenading Citizens
Do you have a child who loves to sing? Give them the opportunity to really find their voice and some new friends in the Summer Singers program. They don’t have to audition, they don’t have to have the best voice, they just have to love music and love to sing! Director John Mogen, a working musician (Mogen’s Heroes) and one of the funnest music teachers around will teach the kids fun summer songs. The Summer Singers then perform at Canaries games, at city parks and other places.
Edison Middle School on south West Avenue will be the Summer Singers gathering place. Children need to be entering the 3rd through the 12th grade in the next school year to participate. Learning sessions are broken out according to age groups: Grades 5 & 6 meet from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Grades 7 through 12 from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. and Grades 3 & 4 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
The cost is $30 (which includes a t-shirt) and registration forms are available through schools, at the Parks & Recreation Office at Sixth St. and Phillips Avenue or online.
