Sioux Falls Police Lieutenant John Duprey says a call on Wednesday to a Sioux Falls home in the 4300 block of East 23rd Street resulted in an arrest of a juvenile.

"A mother contacted law enforcement in regards to a child that she was concerned about. Officers responded to her location and had a conversation about what was going on. She was alarmed at some potential explosive devices or what she perceived as explosive devices. In fact, the investigation did render some items that were seized by the police at that location."

Duprey says that's when the mother's son was charged with a felony.

"The 17-year-old Sioux Falls boy was arrested for three counts of possession of an improvised explosive device."

Duprey says three jars loaded with fireworks-type powder and BB'S were found by police.
