Chuck Albrecht, Vietnam Era Veteran and Volunteer with the Sioux Falls Vets Center, says the 2015 Stand Down will be held on Friday.

"We've been doing this for 13 years. The annual event assists homeless Veterans and Veterans in need. It is at the same location (the V.F.W. on South Minnesota Avenue) from 9:00 A.M. till 2:00 P.M.)"

Albrecht says the day is dedicated to homeless Veterans.

"We're going to have legal assistance, bicycle repairs, meals, haircuts, clothing, medical treatment, flu shots, drug and alcohol treatment information, Veterans benefits, dental appointments, women Veterans services and much, much more!"

Albrecht says he is honored to be a part of 2015 Stand Down!

"It just makes you feel good being able to help. They really are my brothers. As a Vietnam Veteran, I certainly can relate to what so many of them are going through."

There are over 270 homeless Veterans in the area. Typically, 190 to 225 Veterans participate during the day long Stand Down.
