Tuesday nearly 14,000 Sioux Falls voters decided the direction of the school year calendar.  And that direction is to start Sioux Falls schools after Labor Day.

The NO votes were 7,526, while the YES votes came in at 6,895 which means that yes indeed school will start after Labor Day.

So we change the start date of Sioux Falls schools by a few days.  Why is that such a big deal?  Some people are really not happy about it.  These are some responses floating on facebook:

Is it really that big of a deal?  Won't good students continue to do good?  And won't the school systems still provide the best quality education that they are able to provide?

How do you feel about the change in the Sioux Falls school start date?
