A Sioux Falls woman is charged after police say she hit her step-sister with a tire iron.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens says a 34-year-old woman and her boyfriend were giving a friend a ride to the 3600 block of North Career Avenue around 2:45 a.m. Sunday, and when they arrived, they encountered the woman's 32-year-old step-sister.

Clemens says the two women have had issues in the past, and he says they began fighting, and he says one took a tire iron from her vehicle and hit her step-sister on the arm. He says the fight ended and the suspect and her boyfriend left, but police located them at 12th Street and Lyons Avenue, where she was arrested.

Clemens says Jessica Ann Yellow Eagle, 32, was arrested for domestic aggravated assault. Her step-sister told officers she would get medical treatment on her own.
