Two games into the season and the Skyforce are still unbeaten after dumping Delaware 115-103 Friday night at the Sanford Pentagon.

Both of the triumphs for Sioux Falls (2-0) have been by double digits, but it took a couple second half spurts to get separation. Head Coach Nevada Smith took note of the ebb and flow of a 14-0 Sioux Falls run that built a 16-point lead that nearly evaporated.

“I thought we had a chance in the third quarter to really break it open. We just didn’t finish the quarter. We took some bad shots, had some bad turnovers, and didn’t finish possessions. That let them right back in it and they went on a big run to end the quarter.”

In his second game with the Skyforce, Okaro White showed up big with 29 points and 17 rebounds. Despite the gaudy numbers, White is hesitant to take credit.

“I thought I was just active on the boards and that helped (the point total). When I’m not shooting the ball well, I try to get active on defense and on the boards. It just worked out for me tonight.”

Supplying support for the Skyforce, Briante Weber took a gander at another triple-double with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 steals while Keith Benson posted 15 points, 7 boards and 4 blocks. Delaware got 28 points from Cat Barber and 16 tallies from Dionte Christmas in the only meeting between the two teams this season.

The 87ers will head to Des Moines to play tomorrow night against Iowa. Meanwhile Sioux Falls plays their first road game of the year at Fort Wayne on Sunday.
