The Erie BayHawks defeated the Central Division-leading Sioux Falls Skyforce 109-99 on Thursday night at Erie Insurance Arena. Erie has won five of their last six while the Skyforce win streak stops at five.

If not for an eight-game losing streak bridging the new and old years the BayHawks (18-22) would certainly in playoff contention. Add the fact that Erie guard Seth Curry was recently called up to the Phoenix Suns, it indicates that Erie may still make some noise.

Starting the fourth, the Skyforce (23-18) had a lead of 82-75, but could not hold it. Sioux Falls made only 7 of 23 shots in the final stanza. Meanwhile Erie caught fire (12-19) from the floor.

Peyton Siva scored 12 of his 24 points in the crucial frame for the home squad. The two Crawfords, Joe (17 points) and Drew (15 markers), were also instrumental in the victory.
