Small South Dakota Town Rocked by Sex Crime Allegations

Enough evidence was gathered for authorities to take action. Two men will stand charges for major crimes against a juvenile.

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announced via press release that 41 year-old Christian Thomas of Plankinton was arrested on one count of aggravated incest and one count of 4th degree rape.

Additionally, 42 year-old Larry J. Unruh of Mitchell was arrested and charged with one count of 4th degree rape. Both the incest and 4th degree rape charges are class 3 felonies which carry a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and/or a $30,000 fine.

The report goes on to say the incidents occurred in a Plankinton residence. No court date has been set.

This case is being investigated by the Aurora County Sheriff’s Office and the Division of Criminal Investigation.
