Social Calendar: 10 Must-Do Things in the Sioux Empire This Month

Sioux Falls Community Theater presents Agatha Christie's, "The Mousetrap" at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Sioux Falls. Performances are November 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 15, 2015. Showtime is 7:00 PM Friday and Saturday and 2:00 PM on Sundays.

Dancing with the Sioux Falls Stars is a unique event featuring local celebrities paired with seasoned dance instructors. The evening includes signature drinks, hors d'oeuvres, dancing and more. The event is a benefit for NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. The event takes place at The District and starts at 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2015. Tickets are $50.

An evening of fine wines, handcrafted beers, hors d'oeuvres and sweet treats. The event takes place at Landscape Garden Centers starting at 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 12, 2015. Walk through the beautifully decorated holiday trees and listen to the sounds of Elisabeth Hunstad. Proceeds benefit Feisty Fighters as they help to transform the lives of patients throughout South Dakota who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Visit a wide variety of vendors showcasing pottery, jewelry, housewares, candles, rugs, holiday decor, furniture, toys, knick-knacks and more. The Sioux  Empire Arts and Crafts Show takes place Friday and Saturday, November 13 and 14, 2015 at the WH Lyon Fairgrounds Expo Building. Hours are 2:00 - 8:00 PM Friday and 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Saturday. Admission is $5.

Fashionista Miracles is sponsored by Stewart School and is a fundraiser for Sanford Children's Hospital/Children's Miracle Network. Doors open at 6:00 pm at the District on Saturday, November 14, 2015. There will be live statue modeling, local clothing vendors, music from Goodroad, raffles and more. Tickets are $25 each or $50 for VIP.

Bring your family and friends to see the dazzling holiday lights at Falls Park as the display is turned on for the first time of the season on Friday, November 20, 2015. The event takes place from 6:00 - 9:00 PM with refreshments, reindeer, animal friends, wagon rides, Santa and Mrs. Claus and more.  Over 350,000 holiday lights will light up the park. You can visit Winter Wonderland from November 20, 2015 - January 10, 2016.

The Sioux Empire Brass is a 35-piece brass choir made up of musicians from Sioux Falls and the surrounding communities. The concert will feature a variety of holiday favorites for brass ensemble, including antiphonal and jazz arrangements. The concert takes place at 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at our Savior's Lutheran Church, 909 West 33rd Street. The event is free with the opportunity to make a tax-deductible donation at the concert.

After a long day of shopping, take the family to downtown Sioux Falls and enjoy the Parade of Lights. Dazzling lighted holiday floats and music will flood historic Phillips Avenue from 14th Street to 5th Street. The parade starts at 7:30 PM on Friday, November 27, 2015.  Get there early and have dinner at one of the many delicious restaurants in downtown Sioux Falls or do a little shopping at one of the unique stores.

Enjoy the holiday season in Downtown Sioux Falls. There will be horse-drawn wagon rides, get your kids' picture taken with Santa and listen to live holiday music. Shop the many unique stores for the perfect gift and grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants. Downtown Holidays is every Saturday from November 29 through December 19, 2016.
