The University of South Dakota men’s basketball team has two new additions to the roster.

Ricardo Thompson of Stillwater, Okla., and Tavian Pomlee of Davenport, Iowa, have signed National Letters of Intent and will be with the Coyotes next season.

Thompson was an all-state player in Oklahoma after averaging 20 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals per game this season.

In a press release, USD head coach Dave Boots said:

Rico is a true point guard with excellent quickness and very good skills.

He shows leadership at the position and will be an excellent defensive player.

Pomlee will come to Vermillion from Iowa Western Community College, where he grabbed All-Region XI honors, averaged 13 points and 6 rebounds while hitting 38 percent of his 3-point shots.

According to coach Boots:

Tavian is a very long and athletic player.

He can play multiple positions and has a very strong skill set.

His strongest asset is 3-point shooting along with the ability to be an excellent defensive player.
