South Dakota Is Looking for an Agriculture Ambassador

The state Department of Agriculture is taking nominations for the 2015 South Dakota Governor's Ag Ambassador Award.

The person chosen is expected to provide leadership to the state's agricultural industry to help it grow, support responsible stewardship of livestock and land, highlight the significance of South Dakota agriculture to the global food system and influence decision makers on sound agricultural policies.

Nominations are due by April 17. The form can be found online.

The award will be presented in July at the Governor's Agricultural Summit in Deadwood.

The 2014 ambassador was Brad Greenway, of Mitchell, who runs a diversified farm with a swine operation, a beef cow/calf herd, and corn, soybean and wheat crops.
