Collecting art can be enjoyable for many and challenging for others.  Others, meaning my wife and I.  We rarely agree on the same thing.

However, Jon Crane and Charles Peterson prints do add flavor to our home.  Finally we agreed on something?

I know you will agree that we have outstanding talent right in our backyards.   And that talent is gathering in one place for a big exhibit.

Thirty-two of South Dakota’s finest artists will showcase their talent at this year’s First Lady’s Arts Showcase, scheduled for Oct. 23-24, 2015, in Pierre. The event is held in conjunction with the annual Governor’s Invitational Pheasant Hunt.

“We have a number of talented artists in South Dakota and I’m honored that so many of them will be attending this year’s Art Showcase,” said First Lady Linda Daugaard. “This is an event that local residents attend every year. It’s also an opportunity for those attending the Governor’s Pheasant Hunt to take a little piece of South Dakota home with them.”

The First Lady’s Prairie Arts Showcase is open for public viewing and as you will notice in the list below there will be more than just painters.
