No University of South Dakota athlete has ever won a Division I title at the NCAA Track & Field Championships, but this weekend in Eugene, Oregon, the Coyotes do have a national champion competing.

Just 14 months ago, junior Megan Glisar won the high jump at the NAIA National Indoor Championships, competing for Morningside College.  She transferred after last season, venturing north 41 miles to jump on a much bigger stage, NCAA Division I with USD.

Despite her sophomore success at Morningside, Megan and Coyote head coach Lucky Huber say they knew it would be anything but easy to arrive in Vermillion and expect to have the same success right away.

One thing Megan’s NAIA success does is give her big meet experience, something she hopes to draw from this weekend in Oregon.

One of the other things Megan is hoping to use to her advantage, an early arrival in Eugene, where she’s been on the ground now since the middle of the week.
