One night after an emotional win at Oklahoma City, the Sioux Falls Skyforce headed south and got wrangled by the Austin Spurs 122-105.

The respective first quarters played out in similar fashion on the back-to-back engagements with one team making a strong opening statement. There would also be rallies in the second and fourth quarters.

However, the Spurs (16-19) never surrendered their advantage by starting the game 13 of 19 from the floor cooling only slightly until the fourth quarter when the two teams combined for 41 points.

Sioux Falls (23-15) was led by Patrick Miller’s 22 points, Bubu Palo with 18 and Keith Benson narrowly missing a double-double (12 points, 9 rebounds). Off the bench Marcus Posley rang up 13 points as well.

For the Spurs, Bryn Forbes was sent from San Antonio to get some game action and lit the board for 36 points hitting 13 of 17 from the floor plus 8 rebounds. Even more effective was Pato Garino the man from Argentina who was 7 of 8 shooting and finished with 18 points.

One more game on the road trip remains for Sioux Falls with a day off before tangling with the Texas Legends on Saturday. For Austin, their wait will not be as long when they take the court tonight (February 24) at home against Northern Arizona.
