Feeding South Dakota is the state's largest charitable hunger relief organization. Their mission is to eliminate hunger in South Dakota. And despite some politicians beliefs there is still hunger in South Dakota! One in eight people in our state are "food insecure". They are able to distribute this food through over 350 charitable organizations in the state including: youth programs, senior centers, homeless shelters, food pantries and more.

The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) is the union of city delivery carriers working for the US Postal Service founded in 1889.

When these two great organizations teamed up great things started happening for hungry people in our state! This Saturday, May 10th is the 22nd Anniversary of the NALC Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. You should already have received a shopping bag and postcard with information about the food drive in your mailbox.

Fill the bag with non-perishable food items like canned soup or stews, canned vegetables, meat & fish, also pasta, rice or cereal, and peanut butter is always needed. Leave it for your postal carrier this Saturday and it will help to stock the shelves at Feeding South Dakota's Food Pantry here in Sioux Falls.
