If you've always dreamed of donning your designer duds, sparkling jewels and walking the red carpet, this is your opportunity. The State Theatre presents a celebration of the Oscars--"Stars, Statues and the State" on March 2 at the Icon Lounge and Event Center, at 402 North Main Avenue from 5:30 to 11 p.m.

Parker's Bistro is providing the stellar dinner, there will be a silent auction and a gaming room offering Blackjack and billiards. You'll also be able to watch the Academy Awards live while you sip bubbly with the beautiful people at your table!

Stephen Williamson, Executive Director of the Sioux Falls State Theatre told me that the event will be simulcast on KSFY's website. He also said that they had to get special permission from the Academy Awards organization to be able to make this event happen!

The advancement that has been made with the State renovation is amazing and the work is now focused on the restoration of the stage and balcony areas. It truly is a historical work-in-progress! Stephen said that in the future, when the State is reopened this event will take place in the theatre with the Oscar telecast on the big screen.

So glam it up for a great cause! Black tie attire is de rigueur, but optional. You will need to provide your own paparazzi! Tickets are $125.00 per person, or $250.00 per couple and are available here.

For more information check out the State Theatre website or call 605-335-5757.
