I don't want to come off sounding like some sort of scrooge or anything, but I have a huge problem with all these department stores that feel the need to play Christmas music early. Like before Halloween!

I'm completely fine with a Wonderful Christmastime and all the other Holly Jolly jams the day after Thanksgiving. At that point most people are in the holiday mood. Its Black Friday after all, time to deck the malls and give your credit card a workout!

But hearing Bing sing "White Christmas" in mid October really Bah Humbugs me!

According to a new survey, it sounds like a little over half of all Americans feel the same way. 55% reported saying it's unacceptable for Christmas music to start playing before Thanksgiving.

What's really surprising, the older you are, the more problem you have with it.

71% of people over the age of 65 say it's not okay to play Christmas music so early. 63% of people between 45 and 64 have a problem with it and 55% of people between 30 and 44 aren't down with you wishing them a Merry Christmas until after Thanksgiving.

So what you say department stores, can we please keep the holiday hits restricted to the North Pole until we at least have polished off the last piece of pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving?

Thank you on behalf of all of us pre-Thanksgiving Christmas music Grinch’s out there.
